SWK Celebrates Region’s Newest Industrial Park
John E. Walton Business Park
The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) recently received exciting news that the region has received a grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority. The grant allows the Todd County Industrial Foundation to continue development at the region's newest industrial park, the John E. Walton Business Park, in Elkton, Kentucky. Since 2020, the SWK EDC has written and advocated to help the region secure over $50 million in state and federal grants and funding to support industrial site development, critical infrastructure, and business recruitment activity.
The John E. Walton Business Park is a 24-acre park with over 100 additional acres available and under option. The park has all utilities, due diligence, and is annexed and zoned for industrial use. The most recent grant will allow for the installation of the entryway, perimeter fencing, new signage, and the design for access lanes off the four-lane Hwy. 68/80. Located less than 30 minutes from Hopkinsville, Clarksville, Bowling Green and within 45 minutes from Nashville, this site is perfect for any company or industry looking for easy access to the region's quickly growing manufacturing sector. The park is open and ready for business.
Elkton Mayor Arthur Green commented, “We are thrilled to continue investment at our newest business park, the John E. Walton Park. I am excited because I know this park represents opportunity for the future of my community and honors the legacy of my good friend and former mayor, John Walton. We are ready to welcome the next business to our community with open arms.”
Since 2020, there have been over 40 new industry announcements and expansions between Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Bowling Green, Kentucky, representing over $15 billion in investment and 10,000 new jobs.
Todd County Judge Executive Todd Mansfield shared, “With such incredible growth comes tremendous opportunity, and we are ecstatic to provide such a wonderful location as the John E. Walton Business Park. Todd County provides companies with a great location for investment with a young, diverse, and growing regional workforce, low taxes, an affordable cost of living, a growing housing market, abundant outdoor recreation opportunities, and access to communities of all shapes and sizes. We invite you to make your new home in Todd County.”
Once these grant improvements are made at the park, the community will be invited to a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the newest opportunity in southwestern Kentucky and to honor the legacy of former Elkton Mayor John E Walton.
