The GoGreen program, initiated by the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council, recognizes and rewards businesses and industries that implement sustainable practices. By focusing on energy conservation, water efficiency, and pollution prevention, the program aims to promote environmental responsibility and resource conservation.
Purpose and Importance

Application Process
The GoGreen program evaluates sustainability efforts in the following areas:
- Energy Conservation & Efficiency: Implementing measures to reduce energy consumption and enhance efficiency.
- Water Conservation & Efficiency: Adopting practices that minimize water usage and improve water management.
- Pollution Prevention: Initiatives aimed at reducing waste and emissions to protect air, water, and soil quality.
Applications are typically released annually, with deadlines and award presentations scheduled in the fall. The process includes:
- Application Submission: Complete and submit the application form by the specified deadline.
- Committee Review: A committee evaluates applications based on sustainability practices and achievements.
- Award Notification: Top applicants are notified and invited to the Industry Appreciation Luncheon.
- Award Presentation: Recognition is given during the luncheon, celebrating the commitment to sustainability.
