The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) is excited to share an infographic highlighting a historic year in South Western Kentucky featuring over $4 billion in direct and indirect economic impact and over 1,000 new jobs with average wages over $20/ hour.

“Our organization is honored to have played an important role helping the South Western Kentucky region celebrate a record breaking year with projects setting new records for capital investment and total job creation.  In every measure, 2022 was a historic year for economic growth in South Western Kentucky,” stated Carter Hendricks, Executive Director, South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council.

Additionally, the SWK EDC will soon be launching a new page on the SWK EDC website.  This page will provide resources and information for regional job candidates seeking employment in manufacturing and industry.  The SWK EDC will manage the page content and information related to employment opportunities in South Western Kentucky.

RB Miller, President of Pennyrile Industrial Manager Association and Plant Manager of Pregis in Hopkinsville, KY commented, “We are excited to be working with our regional partners to provide job seekers with necessary and important information as they consider manufacturing and industry opportunities in South Western Kentucky.”

Once fully developed, the new web page will feature:

  • A database of regional manufacturers/industries featuring who’s hiring and updated regularly with direct links to company pages with job information and application process.
  • Information regarding the benefits to working in manufacturing and industry while living in South Western Kentucky.
  • Links to resources for education, job training, and programs to assist with career and workforce development.
  • Profiles of key manufacturing sectors and skills needed to succeed in manufacturing career paths.
  • A resume bank where interested candidates can submit an electronic resume which will be shared with regional industry leaders.

“We hope this information is well received and assists regional residents, including our friends at Fort Campbell, as they pursue career opportunities in our region.  We have the honor of working with world class companies, so we’re excited to continue sharing their job opportunities with regional families.  We know that these jobs can become careers and provide transformational opportunities for individuals and families,” stated Tony Prim, Associate Director for Business, Retention, and Expansion with the SWK EDC.
