The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) is launching a regional wage and skill survey as a strategy of the “Getting Ready to Win” (GR2W) initiative.  The wage and skill survey was shared with regional industries and large employers to determine the current wage and benefit structure as well as any skill gaps, etc.

SWK EDC Associate Director Tony Prim commented, “Workforce continues to be a main priority of our existing industries.  This survey will allow us to get a better understanding of industry opportunities and needs so we can partner with our regional education and workforce partners.  This allows our region to ensure our current and future workforce is ready to take advantage of our regional job opportunities today and in the future.”

Additional GR2W highlights include:

  • Nearing completion on the 100,000+ expandable spec building in Christian County!
  • Receiving confirmation of TVA InvestPrep grants for Christian and Trigg Counties to continue site development at Commerce Park I and the Interstate 24 Business Park including funding for a speculative building.
  • Advocating for the Interstate-24 Industrial Connector for Christian County’s Commerce Park I and II and improvements to HWY 115!
  • Launching the Charged and Ready initiative to better prepare our region for electric vehicle manufacturing and production.

The SWK EDC will utilize the information to provide greater direction to our workforce and industry partners to ensure the region has the educational and training opportunities to build the workforce of the future.
