The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) is excited to announce that two regional industrial sites have been recognized for being “Build Ready” in the March/ April edition of Business Facilities Magazine.   The two featured sites include the 86-acre Interstate 24 Business Park in Trigg County with its 15-acre pad ready site and Christian County’s Commerce Park featuring a 22-acre pad ready site soon to be home to a 100,000sft expandable speculative building and an adjacent build ready 30-acre site.

The sites are featured as part of a broader story on the State of Kentucky’s efforts to prepare sites for development and sustainable growth opportunities across the state.  The edition’s feature is focused on “Rethinking the Global Supply Chain.”

With South Western Kentucky’s geographic proximity, the SWK serves as a preferred destination for a number of industries and companies looking to take advantage of the region’s access to major markets, highway and interstate system, young and growing workforce, low cost of living and doing business, and amazing quality of life in award winning communities.  The SWK region is perfectly positioned to help any company looking to improve its supply chain, distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics.

SWK Executive Director Carter Hendricks commented, “We are thrilled that Business Facilities magazine chose to highlight the state of Kentucky’s build ready program. Additionally, we are very pleased that we have two designated Build Ready sites.  However, our region is not growing complacent.  We are constantly looking at strategies and ideas to improve our region’s availability, sustainability, and developable sites so that we can provide even more options for companies to take advantage of our regional attributes and enjoy success in a less taxing, more relaxing environment.”

Sharon Butts, Associate Director, mentioned, “The SWK EDC continues to work with our strong regional leadership to prepare the region for success in economic development including, but not limited to, applying for grants to help develop sites, working with regional partners to promote and improve the regional workforce, marketing properties to prospective industries and businesses, and supporting efforts to improve the region’s quality of life for current and future residents and businesses.”  These strategies are a continued implementation of the Getting Ready to Win (GR2W) initiative focused on preparing the SWK region for success in economic development.
