The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) is excited to announce that the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers will be hosting a virtual roadshow on May 11th focused on issues and items of interest to regional manufacturers or anyone interested in manufacturing.  The virtual event is being held with support from Hopkinsville Community College and the KCTCS system.  Additional supporters include Advantage Kentucky Alliance and the SWK EDC as a co-sponsor.

SWK EDC Executive Director Carter Hendricks commented, “We are excited to co-sponsor this important event as it’s a great opportunity for our regional manufacturers to network and learn from one another while better positioning for the future.  Our efforts to support existing businesses and industries is vital as we strive to help grow the economy of South Western Kentucky.”

Agenda topics include workforce and recruitment, supply chain strategies, legislative advocacy to help manufacturers, local opportunities, and a virtual tour of HCC’s campus to learn more about the workforce opportunities provided by Hopkinsville Community College and KCTCS.

With over 60 regional manufacturers representing eleven unique countries and employing over 13,000 workers, the South Western Kentucky region continues to be a location of choice for industries of all shapes, sizes, and sectors.

Sharon Butts, Associate Director, explained, “Our region takes great pride in supporting our existing industries and businesses. We recognize the commitment that’s been made with their significant investments.  As a result, our regional team is committed to supporting our business and industry partners around the calendar and whenever we can.  We see their success as our success and it’s another great strategy in our Getting Ready to Win (GR2W) initiative.  As we help our existing industries grow, it helps our region win!!!”
