Sharon Butts Named to 2022 KY Notable Women

South Western Kentucky Executive Named as 2022 Notable Women in Kentucky Politics and Government, A Program of The Kentucky Gazette

 

The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council is excited to announce Associate Director Sharon Butts has been recognized among the 2022 Notable Women in Kentucky Politics and Government by the Kentucky Gazette. 

The Kentucky Gazette accepts nominations for the Notable Women program and recognized fifty women from a variety of backgrounds.  But they all have one main attribute in common.  They are known for getting things done at the local, regional, state, and federal level.

Mrs. Butts has served as served as the Associate Director for the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council since 2013 and has served as an economic development professional in South Western Kentucky since 2003.

SWK EDC Board Treasurer, Elizabeth McCoy, commented, “We are thrilled Sharon is being recognized as among the Notable Women in Kentucky Politics and Government.  Sharon continues to make a positive impact in South Western Kentucky and is tremendously deserving of this honor.”

Mrs. Butts is an active Cadiz Trigg County Rotarian, serves on the Board of Director for the Hopkinsville Community College Foundation, has helped the region secure millions of grant dollars, and has a genuine desire to serve and make her community and region a better place.

Mrs. Butts shared, “I am humbled to have been nominated with forty-nine other professional women among the 2022 Notable Women in Kentucky Politics and Government. I am honored to be mentioned with so many outstanding women and so appreciative of the nomination.  I pray that I am able to continue to meet and exceed the expectations that come with such an honor.”
