Rural King is planning to open a new store in Hopkinsville, Kentucky pending final negotiations and considerations of local incentives.   “Hopkinsville is a market that we are really excited to serve our future and current customers” said Rural King Director of Real Estate, Blake Pierce. “This partnership with the City of Hopkinsville and Christian County gives us the confidence to not only invest in a new store, but to revitalize the entire mall.”

Rural King is planning a nearly $8 million redevelopment of the Bradford Square mall to be anchored by a new Rural King store.  Rural King Real Estate will also work to fill the remaining redeveloped space with additional retail, restaurant, and entertainment businesses.  The investment, once complete, is expected to create 170 full time jobs with 55 positions associated with the new Rural King store.

City of Hopkinsville Mayor Wendell Lynch stated, “This announcement marks a great day for Hopkinsville and all of South Western Kentucky.  We realize this location will serve to revitalize our mall and to provide additional choices for our regional residents.  We are appreciative of Rural King’s interest in our community and are confident that they’ll enjoy tremendous success in their new store and with their planned redevelopment.  I thank Rural King’s leadership, Christian County Fiscal Court and Hopkinsville City Council for being instrumental in bringing Rural King to our community.”

Christian County Judge Executive Steve Tribble stated, “For years, county residents have told me that we need a Rural King.  Today, I’m honored to be a part of the announcement that Rural King is likely coming to Christian County.  Equally impressive, they’re planning a significant reinvestment in the mall which will have a tremendous impact on the community and entire region.  I look forward to the groundbreaking, ribbon cutting, and shopping at the new store and additional choices at the soon to be redeveloped mall where we can enjoy a less taxing, more relaxing experience.”
