Local Officials Unveil New Sign
at John E Walton Business Park
The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) and local officials, community leaders, and family members joined together on July 30, 2026, to dedicate and unveil the official new sign at the John E. Walton Business Park.
Elkton Mayor Arthur Green shared, “On behalf of the citizens of Elkton and Elkton City Council, I am thrilled to see the installation of the new sign at the John Walton Business Park. We are also excited to see the continued development and ultimate success at this park as an appropriate tribute to former Mayor John Walton.”
Since 2021, the Todd County Industrial Foundation has invested over $1M at the park thanks to support from the Kentucky Product Development Initiative Program supported by the Cabinet for Economic Development and administered by the Kentucky Association for Economic Development. Additional funds have been awarded and utilized through the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Invest Prep program.
These funds have allowed the local leadership to secure a 24-acre site with controlled options on an adjacent 160+ acres, install new signage and fencing, conduct due diligence, and relocate and extend utility lines. Recently, the TCIF was awarded another KPDI grant to provide an access road and two 100,000 construction pads providing the John E Walton Business Park with two speed to market sites entitled with all utility connections on site.
“We are thrilled to see the continued investment and development of the John E. Walton Business Park. Todd County continues to see incredible growth and economic activity much of it related to the previous hard work of John Walton. This new business park will help to sustain the momentum that John initiated and will honor his legacy of leadership and service to the people of Todd County,” shared Todd County Judge Executive Todd Mansfield.
An official park grand opening and ribbon cutting will be announced once all grant work is complete.
