Genuine Fertilizer Solutions Investing in Christian County

Locally owned company investing $2.9M in Christian County Creating 10-15 New Jobs

 

The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council is pleased to announce that locally owned Genuine Fertilizer Solutions, L.L.C. is establishing their first facility in Hopkinsville’s Industrial Park.   According to the company’s Kentucky Business Incentive application, recently approved by the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA), the company plans to invest $2.9M in a new liquid solution fertilizer manufacturing facility creating 10-15 new high paying agriculture jobs. 

City of Hopkinsville Mayor James R. Knight stated, “The City of Hopkinsville is thrilled to support Mr. Barbee’s vision to bring 10-15 new jobs and invest over $2.9M in Hopkinsville Industrial Park.  This project is another major investment and opportunity for our residents and businesses.  We are appreciative of the support from Governor Andy Beshear, the Cabinet for Economic Development, and our local and regional partners.”

Owned by Mr. David Barbee, Genuine Fertilizer Solutions represents another innovative value-added vertically integrated agriculture opportunity for the entire South Western Kentucky region.  Mr. Barbee stated, “I am thankful for the state and local support and look forward to establishing this innovative fertilizer solution company as one of the best in the nation.  With hard work and good fortune, we hope to exceed all expectations in our incredible region.” 

Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam also shared, “With Christian County being an agricultural community, it is only fitting to have a state-of-the-art fertilizer manufacturer located in our county. I eagerly support this project and fully endorse Mr. Barbee’s plan to add another vertically integrated agribusiness opportunity to our community and region.  We look forward to supporting the company’s success for generations to come.”

Genuine Fertilizer Solutions continues to add to the growing agriculture economy in South Western Kentucky.  In 2024, the agriculture economy produced over $1B in economic impact throughout the region.
