Todd County Heralded by Site Selection Magazine as One of America’s Best Counties

The July 2023 edition of Site Selection Magazine, www.siteselection.com, features America’s Best Counties as measured by economic development activity and quality of life.  The magazine considered projects that were announced from January 2022 through March 2023.

Todd County, Kentucky ranks 5th in the America’s Best Counties by Projects Per Capita (minimum population 10,000).  With just over 12,400 residents, Todd County enjoyed three announcements during this period including Novelis expansion, Cal-Maine expansion, and Delavan Ag Pump’s new location in Elkton, Kentucky.  

These announcements are creating over $375 million in capital investment and over 200 new jobs.  This continues Todd County’s positive momentum as a recent TVA produced report highlights continued job and population growth projected over the next five years.  According to recent reports, Todd County and South Western Kentucky continue to boast low property taxes, low cost of living, low crime rates, and an outstanding quality of life.

Todd County remains positioned for continued growth with several development sites featuring rail and highway access and access to a young, diverse, and growing workforce.  

Todd County Judge Executive Todd Mansfield shared, “As Todd County Judge-Executive, I am extremely proud to see Todd County ranked #5 in the nation by Site Selection magazine for economic development projects.  The ranking was not something sought but is evidence of hard work and joint efforts on the part of the Todd County Fiscal Court, Tennessee Valley Authority, the Local Economic Development team, the State Economic Development team, the Governor and our State Representative and State Senator.”
