Hopkinsville, KY - Today, South Western Kentucky EDC announced two of its staff have recently graduated from professional development opportunities provided by the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Associate Director for Business Retention and Expansion Tony Prim participated in the TVA Workforce Development program aimed at helping communities better understand how to partner with education, workforce, and government leaders to ensure the regional workforce is ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.

“I am so thankful to have had this opportunity to learn with peers and colleagues from the Tennessee Valley area.  It was gratifying to hear that we’re on the right track while learning new ideas and strategies.  We will continue to be an active partner helping meet our existing industries workforce needs,” shared Tony Prim, Associate Director for Business Retention and Expansion.

Carter Hendricks, Executive Director, recently graduated from the TVA Rural Leadership Institute which focused on topics, issues, and strategies to help rural and smaller communities compete in today’s global economy.

“I commend TVA for coordinating these opportunities to provide leaders with low-cost, high quality professional development.  We are already implementing new ideas to help our region grow its economy and create more opportunities for our residents and businesses,” stated Hendricks.

Hendricks and Prim join Associate Director Sharon Butts as graduates of one or both of TVA’s programs.  Additionally, SWK EDC staff have graduated from the Kentucky Institute for Economic Development and the US Chamber’s Institute for Organizational Management.
