Major General JP McGee Recognizes Champions of Fort Campbell

SWK’s Hendricks among the list of honorees

On Wednesday June 7, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Commanding General JP McGee, represented by Division Chief of Staff Colonel Jared Bordwell, inducted the 2023 Champions of Fort Campbell Class.  This class of honorees joins a growing list of regional leaders, dignitaries, and volunteers.  Though the Champions represent a diverse collection of expertise and backgrounds, they share the common desire to support Fort Campbell and the men and women who serve.

This year’s class includes five honorees, including:

• Catherine Bertoldi
• Carter Hendricks
• Traci Koon
• Sammy Stuard
• Paul Turner

“I am humbled by this honor and by those who serve at Fort Campbell along with their families who sacrifice so we may continue the pursuit of a more perfect union.  I vow to work even harder as an advocate for Fort Campbell and the military families that call our region home.” shared Carter Hendricks, Executive Director of the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council.

Champions can be found at welcome home flights, change of command ceremonies, traveling to advocate for the installation, volunteering and raising money for Fort Campbell causes, and much more.  They are individuals who have truly answered the call to serve those who serve.

Hendricks continued, “It is an incredible honor to join this distinguished group of individuals who care so deeply about Fort Campbell and our military.  I also acknowledge that there are countless more volunteers and leaders who are champions of our military.  I thank Major General McGee for this designation and the opportunity to continue serving Fort Campbell.”
