SWK EDC Hosts Workforce Series on How to Attract Young Talent

Mar 1, 2017

Hopkinsville, Ky - The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council will host a half-day seminar on Economic Develompent 101 and Attracting Young Talent on Wednesday, March 15.  The event will be held at the James E. Bruce Convention Center from 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.  The presenters are TVA Economic Developers Katrina Shirley and Melissa Halsell.

The event is a part of an education series the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council kicked off in January with the #MFG270 Workforce Summitt.  The listening and learning session is geared toward human resources managers, community leaders, and education officials.

Liana Mitchell Wallace, SWK EDC executive director, noted, "We want to provide a speaker series for our stakeholders and partners that allows interactive dialogue about today's workforce.  This is the first time in our nation's history to have five different generations represented in the workforce: the Silent Generation, the Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millenials, and now Gen Z."

To register for the event, please contact Sharon Butts at (270) 885-1499.  The event is offered at no cost.
