Workforce

A well-trained workforce is essential for every business. South Western Kentucky is certified by the Kentucky Work Ready Program - the most comprehensive, innovative Work Ready Program in the United States. That certification is your assurance of superior workforce quality in our three counties.

It's a demanding program that requires re-certification every two years. Such high standards are a major reason why so many international companies now work in South Western Kentucky. Want another great reason to work here? Our rural location can mean lower payroll costs and higher employee loyalty than you find in urban areas.

On top of that, you can take advantage of soldiers leaving service in the U.S. Army at nearby Fort Campbell, home of the 101st Airborne Division. Each month, 400-600 ex-servicemen and women exit the gates of Fort Campbell looking for solid jobs. They arrive pre-trained to function well in teams and master even the most complex work tasks.

Workforce Essentials Grant: Assist transitioning soldiers into successful high demand sector occupations in expanding or emerging jobs by enhanced career services, job preparation/training and work based learning. The added benefit is the financial support for spouses who were dislocated from the military move to Fort Campbell through funds to pay for training and career pathways and employment.
